Hello I am Ryan Whittington, the Photographers boyfriend and p.r. director for his gallery. I have kept away from commenting on any of these blog sites to let other people voice their opinions. How ever I don't want to confuse people. This bar is located in The Blue Star Arts Complex which is home to over 50 contemporary art galleries, and display more contemporary art at one time than any other city on the planet. We never said that Mr Villareal was homophobic first of all, although I do believe personally that he is. This is not just a gay issue it is a matter of principal in the way we treat one another, it just so happens that he singled out the gay community. Why he said these things we don't know and he said alot more than what is written here. Just over 50% of his clientele are people that spend most of their time at this complex, and well over 50% of them are gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, or transgendered. We are simply trying to spread the word to these people to let them know that they are supporting a man that clearly does not support them. Spend your money where more than your wallet is appreciated. Number two Since when did it become o.k. to censor art in a contemporary arts complex. If you don't understand art then don't show art, and if you don't want gay clients move your bars out of the gayborhood. Please understand that we are not saying oh poor us, we are saying speak up.
